Polyethylene Products
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
National Plastek’s high-density film products are made of high molecular weight, high-density polyethylene (HMW-HDPE) resins. High-Density Polyethylene is a good barrier against moisture and temperature and protects products such as powder, cheese, meats, and frozen foods. In addition, HDPE is non-abrasive; it will not cause scratching on painted parts and surfaces.

Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
National Plastek uses Linear Low Density Polyethylene when an application calls for a film with a softer feel, higher clarity, higher sheen or gloss, greater tear resistance and a lower sealing temperature. Linear Low Density is usually run at a greater thickness than HDPE. Linear Low Density can also possible scratch painted surfaces.
Applications for LLDPE
-
Seal off first bags for Pearson machines
-
Flat tubing for automated bagging machines
-
Bags for sorting packages in warehouses
-
Medical Bags
-
Food Packaging

Blended Films
National Plastek manufactures blended films which are combinations of HDPE and LLDPE. We call these our “Series Films”.
Series Films are high-performance alternatives to conventional low density, linear low density, or even high-density products. They combine the best qualities of each resin – the strength of high density, and the tear resistance, and the softer feel of linear low density.
The Series Films offer a variety of film options, each with a slightly different characteristic. This variety allows us to custom engineer a film product for each particular packaging need. Selective use of metallocenes and other specialty resins further enhances our ability to customize.

Co-Extruded Films
National Plastek manufacturers co-extruded films which are multiple layer films using a combination of high density, linear low density, and metallocene resins. We call these films our “Formula Specialty Films”.
Formula films are high performance alternatives to conventional low density, linear low density, and high density materials. They are similar to Series Films in that they combine the best qualities of each type of resin used in the extrusion process.
